We are a Kindergarten (age 5) to Grade 12 (age 17) International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum School surrounded by the ocean, beaches and natural beauty of South Delta, BC. Offering world leading programming through the IB Primary Years (Grade K-5), Middle Years (Grade 6-10) and IB Diploma (Grade 11-12) Programmes. Southpointe Academy is one of a few schools in Canada and only school in Delta delivering the IB Continuum Programme from Kindergarten to Graduation.

At Southpointe, we use a unique Buddy Programme to welcome new families throughout the year. This connection provides an authentic opportunity to ask questions and form friendships before starting at Southpointe.

Prior to school starting, new students are invited to tour the campus with their families and connect with teachers and faculty members.

The IB Programme encourages students to become active participants in their own learning while providing opportunities to engage in a holistic, experiential education. To learn more about the IB Programme, please click here.

After completing an application to Southpointe, applicants for all grade levels will be invited to attend our Prospective Student Assessments in January. Students applying to Kindergarten to Grade 10 will complete teacher prepared assessments.

We enrol students who are developmentally ready for the grade they are entering, as it is important that each student demonstrates age-appropriate skillsets for their learning environment. Students who are curious about the world around them and parallel the mission of the IB to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world.

Our main intake grades are Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 4 and Grade 6. We welcome interest and applications at any time for other grade levels.

If a student or parent is in Canada on a student or visitor visa, we are required to apply international student fees. Students with Canadian citizenship or permanent residency and parents with work visas will pay Canadian tuition fees.

Yes, with community at our forefront, we love when siblings and alumnae apply. All applicants are required to complete the full admissions process and meet the educational standards.

Students at Southpointe work closely with our University Counselling Department starting in Grade 9 to establish a pathway to their desired future. Southpointe graduates accept offers to study at prestigious universities across Canada, the USA, and the UK. Our graduates are empowered and enabled by their achievements here, with over 95% studying at their university of choice.

Our campus is often described as having a warm community atmosphere due to our small class sizes. With a maximum of 3 classes per grade of 18-24 students, everyone is a familiar face. At the Senior School level, the class size varies from 6 to 24 students depending on the subject.

Yes! We offer 3 bus routes (Richmond, Surrey, Vancouver) that pick up/ drop off in a common location. Door-to-door service is not available. Upon acceptance to Southpointe, exact locations will be shared.

Junior School (K-5) begins school at 8:10am and students are dismissed at 3:15pm.

Middle and Senior School (6-12) begins school at 8:20am and students are dismissed at 3:10pm. Middle and Senior School Teachers will offer office hours for support from 8:00-8:20am each morning.
